Hi, I am Sulaimaan Patel – Why I Am Writing This?

I am Sulaimaan Patel, behind nomadpatel.in. I travel only by ST buses and share real stories.

On June 12, 2026, I took the morning bus from Amravati to Chhindwara. When I searched Amravati to Chhindwara bus ticket priceMahuli bus stopMahendragiri, the last village in Maharashtra, and Banoda village, I found zero real info. So I decided to note down EVERY small village the bus passed through, so readers of nomadpatel.in get the complete route.

This is my complete stop-by-stop story including Mahuli, Morshi, Warud, Banoda, Mahendragiri, Bangaon, Pandhurna, Sausar, Ramakona to Chhindwara.

My Bus Details – What I Experienced

My bus was a Warud depot ordinary bus. I found my bus – a red MSRTC vehicle with the number MH 14 MH 1951 painted on the side and front.

It started from Warud, came to Amravati CBS at 8:25 AM and left for Chhindwara at 8:30 AM. Conductor told me bus number changes daily, so don’t rely on any fixed number you see online.

I paid around Rs 330 for my ticket from Amravati to Chhindwara. My total distance covered was around 220 KM in 6 hours. I reached Chhindwara at 2 PM.

Stop 1: Amravati Central Bus Stand – 0 KM – 8:30 AM Departure

Amravati CBS is crowded is chaotic in the way only Indian bus stands can be at 8 AM. Passengers shouting, conductors waving their hands, chai vendors calling out to sleepy travelers. The air smells of diesel, sweat, and frying samosas.Inquiry told me platform 7. I bought ticket inside bus. Left at 8:30 AM sharp.

Stop 2: Mahuli Village – Around 45 KM from Amravati – Passed at 9:15 AM

After leaving Amravati city, which is known for its cotton and soybean farms. we were then on Amravati-Morshi highway. After about 45 minutes, we passed through Mahuli village.

Mahuli is a small village, about 45 km from Amravati. The bus did NOT stop here for long, it just slowed down and picked up 2 passengers from the roadside. I saw green fields, a small Shiva temple on the left side, and women carrying water pots from a well. It was very peaceful.

If you search Amravati to Mahuli distance by bus, it is around 45 km. Many websites miss this village, but as a traveler sitting on window seat, I noted it. From Mahuli, Morshi is just 8 km more.

My note in diary: “Mahuli – peaceful, green, temple, 9:15 AM. Bus didn’t halt but good view.”

Stop 3: Morshi Bus Stand – 53 KM – 9:40 AM Halt for 10 Minutes

We reached Morshi at 9:40 AM. Morshi bus stand is new, cement floor, clean. It has a depot workshop behind. Many daily passengers got down here.

I got down and ate kachori at platform 1 – Rs 20 for 2. If you search what to eat at Morshi bus stand, try it.

Stop 4: Warud – 90 KM from Amravati – 10:30 AM – 15 Min Diesel Halt

The journey from Morshi to Varud took about an hour, covering the remaining 37 kilometers to reach the total of 90 kilometers from Amravati.Morshi to Warud road is best – full cement concrete. I noticed the Wardha River flowing nearby at one point, its waters slow and brown, with cattle drinking at the banks.

We reached Warud at 10:30 AM. Warud is Santranagari – Orange City. Even in June without fruits, farms look green. In winter, both sides turn orange.

Warud bus stand has 6 platforms. Our bus went inside Warud depot for diesel. Halt of 15 minutes. I bought Santra Barfi for Rs 50 outside.

If you search Warud to Chhindwara distance, it is 125 km from here.

Stop 5: Banoda Village – Around 110 KM from Amravati – Passed at 11:00 AM

After Warud, we continued and passed through Banoda village. Banoda is around 110 km from Amravati.

The bus did not stop at a proper stand, just a roadside halt. I saw a banyan tree, 4-5 men playing cards under it, and a boy selling sugarcane juice. Very calm, unhurried village life. The bus picked up 3 passengers here.

If you search Banoda village on Amravati Chhindwara route, it is a small but important village for locals. From Banoda, Mahendragiri is just 12 km ahead. The journey from Banoda to Mahendragiri took about 15-20 minutes.

My diary note: “Passed through Banoda – small, peaceful village. Saw men playing cards under a banyan tree. Sugarcane juice vendor looked busy. Distance from Amravati: approximately 110 km. The bus didn’t stop, but the place looked charming.”

Stop 6: Mahendragiri – Around 122 KM – Last Village in Maharashtra – 11:15 AM

Mahendragiri is the last village in Maharashtra on this route before entering Madhya Pradesh.

We reached around 11:15 AM. Distance from Amravati around 122 km. Here landscape changes. Fields become less, dense forests start on both sides. Road starts curving.

Mahendragiri has a small bus stop, a few shops, and a small temple. I saw children playing cricket near the stop. They waved at our bus.

I asked conductor, “MP border kiti lamb?” He said, “Next stop, Bangaon.”

Stop 7: Bangaon – Around 125 KM – First Village in Madhya Pradesh – 11:20 AM

Just 3-4 km after Mahendragiri, we crossed the Wardha River bridge. This river is the border. After bridge, we entered Bangaon.

Bangaon is the first village in Madhya Pradesh on this route. A small board said “Welcome to Madhya Pradesh”. The bus slowed, no formal checking, but you feel the change. Signboards in Hindi more prominent.

If you search first village in MP after Amravati route, it is Bangaon.

Stop 8: Pandhurna – Around 130 KM – 11:30 AM – First Major Town in MP

Just after Bangaon, we reached Pandhurna at 11:30 AM. Pandhurna is first major town in MP. Bus stopped for 5 minutes at a small platform, not a big bus stand. 4-5 passengers got down.

I got down and had chai. Strong, sweet. Chai vendor said, “Chhindwara 90 km, but ghat aage kharab hai, 2 ghanta lagega.”

Stop 9: Sausar – Around 160 KM – 1:00 PM – Lunch Halt

From Pandhurna, forests became dense. Road had small potholes. We reached Sausar at 1:00 PM. Sausar is a taluka town in Chhindwara district. Bus stand small with benches and ticket window.

This was lunch halt for 15 mins. I had poha. If you search Sausar to Chhindwara distance, it is 54 km.

Stop 10: Ramakona – Around 185 KM – 1:30 PM – Entry to Ghat

After Sausar, we passed Ramakona village surrounded by forest. Then ghat started.

Stop 11: Silewani Ghat Section – 1:30 PM to 1:55 PM – Most Scenic

Silewani Ghat is forest ghat with curves, streams, waterfall. No network. Driver drove very carefully. Right side window gives best valley view. If you have motion sickness, take tablet before this.

Stop 12: Chhindwara Bus Stand – 220 KM – 2:00 PM – Final Destination

We exited ghat and entered Chhindwara city. Reached bus stand at 2:00 PM. Total 6 hours.
