My Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) to Ichalkaranji A 12-Hour Journey – Full Story

By Nomad Patel | nomadpatel.in | Travelled: January 18, 2026 |Not Affiliated with MSRTC – My Personal Diary

Hi, I am Nomad Patel – Why I am Writing This?

I am Nomad Patel, behind nomadpatel.in. I travel only by ST buses and share real stories with real ticket.

On January 18, 2026, I took the morning bus from Aurangabad to Ichalkaranji. When I searched Aurangabad to Ichalkaranji bus ticket price, Aurangabad to Ichalkaranji distance, Pachod bus stand, Beed bus stand, Yermala bus stand, and Pandharpur bus stand, I found zero real info. Only copied tables. No one shared real experience of CIDCO, Gevrai, Barshi driver change, or Pandharpur cement stand.

So I decided to note down EVERY small village, toll naka, and river bridge the bus passed through, so readers of nomadpatel.in get the complete route. This is my personal diary, not official timetable.

Many people search Aurangabad to Ichalkaranji distance – As per my diary, it is 477 KM via Beed and takes 12 hours by direct MSRTC bus.

My Bus Details – What I Experienced

My friend called me 3 weeks ago. He said “Bhai, marriage hai, aana hi padega. No excuse.” So I had to go to Ichalkaranji.

I reached CIDCO at 6:00 AM from Central by auto – Rs 30. CIDCO stand is very big and open, good for long route buses. I came 2 hours early because I know ST bus never waits for anyone.

My bus was Ichalkaranji depot ordinary bus. Red MSRTC bus, number MH 09 EM 4521 painted on side. As per my ticket, fare was Rs 725 for 477 KM. It started from Aurangabad CIDCO Platform No 1 at 8:00 AM sharp. Conductor told me there are 2 buses daily – 8:00 AM and 7:30 PM. My bus depot is Ichalkaranji. I paid inside bus after starting. Ticket showed CIDCO to Ichalkaranji.

Stop 1: Aurangabad CIDCO Bus Stand – 0 KM – 8:00 AM Departure

CIDCO was full crowd at 6 AM. People shouting, conductors shouting for seats, chai wale shouting “chai garam”. Full smell of diesel and dust.

I went to enquiry, they told Platform 1 for Ichalkaranji. Platform was slowly getting full. One family with 2 small kids, one group of old women going to Pandharpur, one young man with file in hand going for job interview. One person asked me “First time to Ichalkaranji?” I said yes.

From CIDCO, bus went towards Zalta Fata and then joined Aurangabad-Solapur highway. This highway is very good. On this highway you will cross Adul, Bakshachiwadi and Bhokarwadi villages. At Bhokarwadi there is first Toll Naka of my journey.

Stop 2: Pachod Bus Stand – Around 60 KM – 9:15 AM

handwritten diary entry for Pachod bus stand 4 platforms and Beed dusty old stand 10:40 AM
My diary note – Pachod 4 platforms small but busy tea Rs 15 – Beed old stand dusty mud road 10:40 AM – Beed old stand dusty mud road 10:40 AM – Page 1

After Bhokarwadi toll, after running for long time, my bus reached Pachod bus stand.

Pachod is important. Here many buses come and go. Pachod bus stand has only 4 platforms. My ST stopped on Platform 1. From here you get buses for Aurangabad, Kannad, Chalisgaon, Dhule and Surat. On side of Platform 1 there is a hotel where you get hot tea and nashta. I had tea here.

My note in diary: “Pachod – 4 platforms, small but busy, tea Rs 15, 9:15 AM.”

If you search Pachod bus stand, this info will help.

Stop 3: Shahagad & Godavari River Bridge – Around 90 KM – 9:45 AM

After Pachod, my bus again started running on highway. We crossed Dongaon and Vadigodri villages. After Vadigodri, bus stopped at Shahagad bus stand for few minutes. Then my bus crossed Godavari river bridge. This bridge is big.

Stop 4: Gevrai Bus Stand – 80 KM – 10:00 AM Arrival – Big Tin Shed

We reached Gevrai Bus Stand around 10:00 AM. The distance from Aurangabad to Gevrai is about 80 kilometers.Gevrai bus stand is very big but with tin sheet construction. You can see it from Solapur Aurangabad highway side. This stand has many platforms. My bus took small halt here. Passengers got down for tea.

From Gevrai, bus ran on highway. At Padalsingi there is second toll naka of my journey. This toll came after Gevrai.

Stop 5: Beed Bus Stand – 123 KM from Aurangabad – 10:40 AM – Most Important

This is important stop. From Aurangabad to Beed I covered 123 KM.

Beed bus stand inside area is very old. Road inside stand is of mud, so lot of dust flies when bus comes and goes. In rainy season, mud problem is more.

After Beed city, while going out of city, my bus crossed Bindusara river bridge. Then we crossed Manjarsumba bus stand and Chousala bus stand. Then third toll naka at Paragav.

After crossing toll, beside highway at a hotel at Sarmakundi Fata, my bus stopped at 12:30 PM for lunch for 15 minutes.

I got down, hungry and tired. The dhaba was simple – a tin roof, plastic chairs, and a woman cooking on a large stove.

“Bhakri and vegetables,” I said.

Food came fast. Bhakri was hot and soft. Vegetables were spicy. I ate fast because I was very hungry.

From Sarmakundi Phata, the distance to Yermala was about 26 kilometers.

Stop 6: Sarmakundi Fata to Yermala – 26 KM – 1:00 PM

diary entry Yermala bus stand 2 platforms kachha road and Barshi most crowded duty change 1:45 PM
My diary note – Yermala 2 platforms only kachha road ahead – Barshi 200 KM most crowded duty change halt 20 mins

From Sarmakundi Fata to Yermala is 26 KM. I am on Solapur-Aurangabad-Hyderabad highway now. After lunch, we passed through Terkheda Village on the Solapur-Aurangabad-Hyderabad Highway. The bus didn’t stop.

At 1:00 PM I reached Yermala bus stand. Yermala bus stand has only 2 platforms, very small. Road from Yermala to Barshi is kachha road, not good. Driver told road to Barshi is single and under construction.

My diary note: “Yermala – 2 platforms only, kachha road ahead, 1 PM, hot sun.”

Stop 7: Barshi Bus Stand – Around 203 KM – 1:30 PM – Most Crowded & Duty Change

From Yermala, the road became rough and dusty. It was a single-lane, unpaved road. The bus jolted with every pothole.

We passed through DhanoreKuslamb, and Jamgaon. The bus didn’t stop.

I covered my mouth with my cloth. The dust was everywhere. It was suffocating.Barshi bus stand is most crowded. This is where driver and conductor duty changes. Bus stopped for 20 minutes here. Here buses go to many places. My bus route after Barshi is via Shendi, Kurduwadi.

The Barshi to Pandharpur road is a single road. So far, from Beed to Barshi, I had travelled 108 km, and from Barshi to Ichalkaranji, 230 km.

If you search Barshi bus stand crowded, yes it is true.

Stop 8: Kurduwadi 2:41 PM & Pandharpur 3:30 PM – 320 KM Done

At 2:41 PM I reached Kurduwadi bus stand. Then via Adhiv, Visava villages, at 3:30 PM my bus crossed Chandrabhaga river bridge and entered Pandharpur after travelling 87 km from Barshi. From Pandharpur, the distance to Ichalkaranji was still 160 kilometers.

Till Pandharpur I had completed 320 KM from Aurangabad. Pandharpur bus stand is longest bus stand in Maharashtra made of cement. Very big and clean compared to Beed. Here many warkari people were there. From Pandharpur, we passed through Khardi Village without stopping.

Stop 9: Sangola Bus Stand – 355 KM from Aurangabad – 4:22 PM

From Pandharpur to Sangola is 35 KM. I reached Sangola at 4:22 PM. Sangola bus stand has 11 platforms. Very systematic stand.

After Sangola, route is via Godsewadi, Ankdhal Toll Naka, Junoni, Nagaj Fata, Shirdhon, Agrani river bridge, Boragav Toll Naka. Ankdhal and Boragav are two toll nakas. Road condition is mast and jabardast after Sangola.

Stop 10: Miraj Bus Stand – Around 440 KM – 6:20 PM – Platform 9

Pandharpur to Miraj highway is best road in my whole journey. At 6:20 PM I reached Miraj bus stand on Platform 9. Miraj is big junction. Here I saw many buses for Kolhapur, Sangli, Pune.

From Miraj to Ichalkaranji only 35 KM remaining.

Stop 11: Jaysingpur 6:47 PM to Ichalkaranji 8:00 PM – 477 KM Complete

From Miraj, we passed through Ankali Village without stopping.my bus went to Jaysingpur. Reached Jaysingpur at 6:47 PM. Then via Rajwada area, finally at 8:00 PM I reached Ichalkaranji final destination.

Total journey time 12 hours exact. Started 8:00 AM ended 8:00 PM. Total distance 477 KM. Ticket price Rs 725 as per my ticket.
