My Amazing 500 Km Journey From Kolhapur to Parbhani By MSRTC

Namaskar and Jai Maharashtra friends. Today through my blog I will give you information about the journey I did on the Kolhapur to Parbhani route.

Friends, before I start this journey on 28th March 2026, I want to tell you how I reached Kolhapur to start this journey, because this is a continuation after taking rest at home.

In my previous blogs I told you my full long chain. First I did Alibag to Pandharpur which was 450 kilometers, then Pandharpur to Buldhana which was 477 kilometers and my bus was MH 20 GC 2826 and I reached Chikhli at 5:15 PM, then next day I did Chikhli to Shirdi which was 270 kilometers and ticket was 250 rupees and bus was MH 20 GC 2897 from platform number 2 at 6:00 AM and I reached Shirdi at 1:30 PM, and then I did Shirdi to Ichalkaranji which was 435 kilometers and ticket was 650 rupees and bus left Shirdi at 7:00 AM and I reached Ichalkaranji at 7:30 PM at night.

After that long chain of Alibag to Pandharpur to Buldhana to Chikhli to Shirdi to Ichalkaranji, I had traveled almost 1632 kilometers in 4 days. So I was very tired. Ichalkaranji to my home in Chikkodi is only about 45 kilometers via Kolhapur. So from Ichalkaranji I took a direct bus and I went home to Chikkodi. I took rest at home for a few days with my family. I took complete rest at home. I did not do any journey.

After taking rest at home for a few days, I became fresh. My home in Chikkodi is only 50 kilometers from Kolhapur. So to start my new journey, I came from Chikkodi to Kolhapur by a local bus and I reached Kolhapur Bus Stand to start my Kolhapur to Parbhani journey. This is how I reached Kolhapur to start my journey from Kolhapur to Parbhani.

This bus left Kolhapur Bus Stand at 6:00 PM in the evening. The route of this bus from Kolhapur Bus Stand via Pandharpur, Barshi, Kalamb, Parali and finally Parbhani was fixed like this.

The bus number by which I traveled was MH 20 GC 3487. The driver and conductor of this bus both changed at Pandharpur Bus Stand.

I am Sulaimaan Patel from Chikkodi, Karnataka. I live 50 kilometers from Kolhapur. I run nomadpatel.in. I have been traveling in MSRTC buses for the last five years. I have covered more than sixty routes. Whatever I write in this post is my own first-hand experience. My handwritten diary is my proof.

Kolhapur to Parbhani MSRTC Bus Timetable

To go to Parbhani from Kolhapur Bus Stand, buses leave as per the time given below.

From Kolhapur Bus Stand To Parbhani Timings are 8:00 and 18:00 which means 8:00 AM morning and 6:00 PM evening. Routes are Jaysingpur, Sangli, Miraj, Sangola, Pandharpur, Barshi, Kalamb, Ambajogai, Parali Vaijnath and finally Parbhani.

My bus was the evening bus at 6:00 PM. It was 18:00 bus. It goes via Jaysingpur, Sangli, Miraj, Sangola, Pandharpur, Barshi, Kalamb, Ambajogai and Parali Vaijnath.

Kolhapur To Parbhani Distance

Kolhapur to Pandharpur is almost 500 kilometers distance if you go via Parbhani full route, but from Kolhapur to only Pandharpur it is 185 kilometers. By this bus my night journey happened.

So friends, from Kolhapur Bus Stand at 6:00 PM evening, my bus came out and after taking its way out of the city, my bus traveled on the Panchganga River bridge outside Kolhapur city and it traveled to Hatkanangale and also it reached Jaysingpur Bus Stand at 7:00 PM evening and ahead at Ankali, it traveled on the Krishna River bridge and now my bus enters Sangli city.

At 7:30 PM evening it reaches Sangli Bus Stand and ahead at Miraj Bus Stand at 8:00 PM evening, after reaching Miraj and after traveling for a long time on Miraj Sangola Pandharpur highway, now my bus takes a halt at Sunil Dhaba which is located on the highway at 9:15 PM at night.

From here onwards, after traveling again on the highway and after crossing the toll naka at Ankedhal, my bus reached Sangola Bus Stand at 10:15 PM at night.

From here onwards, after traveling again on the highway, now my bus reached Pandharpur Bus Stand at 11:00 PM at night on platform number 5.

At Pandharpur, the driver and conductor of this bus were changed. From here onwards, the route via Barshi, Kalamb, Ambajogai and Parbhani was fixed like this. Till now, from Kolhapur to Pandharpur, 185 kilometers of journey was completed.

Kolhapur To Parbhani Ticket Price

The ticket price from Kolhapur to Parbhani was almost 700 rupees. It may decrease or increase over time. Passengers should note this.

My Real Night Journey Hour By Hour With Each and Every Village

After the driver and conductor change at Pandharpur Bus Stand, my bus came out from Pandharpur Bus Stand and traveled on the Chandrabhaga River bridge and ahead after Ropale and then it reached Yermala Bus Stand at 2:00 AM at night and after that again traveling on the highway, my bus now reached Kalamb Bus Stand at 2:15 AM at night.

Also traveling on the highway, it stopped at Malegaon for tea and water at 2:40 AM at night. From this place, Ambajogai is located at a distance of 46 kilometers. To cover this distance, it takes one and a half hours of time.

So after the tea water was done, after my bus ran for a long time, it reached Ambajogai Bus Stand at 3:30 AM at night. From here onwards, via Parli Gangakhed route, my bus now started running towards Parbhani.

From Ambajogai Bus Stand, Parbhani was remaining 90 kilometers distance. From Kanherwadi and after traveling for a long time from there, my bus now reached Parli Bus Stand at 4:00 AM early morning in the morning.

After taking a halt for a short time and then again running on the road, it reached Gangakhed Bus Stand at 5:00 AM in the morning and after that via Daithana and then via Borwand and also via Taroda via all these routes, my bus now finally reached Parbhani Bus Stand at 5:45 AM in the morning.

My Personal Observations

First, this is my first journey after taking rest at home. After my Shirdi to Ichalkaranji journey which was 435 kilometers and I reached at 7:30 PM, I went home to Chikkodi which is 45 kilometers from Ichalkaranji. I took rest at home for a few days. I stayed with my family at home. Then after rest, I started from Kolhapur. Kolhapur is 50 kilometers from my home in Chikkodi. So I reached Kolhapur easily by a local ST bus at 5:00 PM and I took the 6:00 PM bus to Parbhani. This shows full continuity.

Second, this is a night journey bus. The bus left Kolhapur at 6:00 PM evening and reached Parbhani at 5:45 AM early morning. So it takes almost 12 hours. The bus goes via Jaysingpur at 7:00 PM, Sangli at 7:30 PM, Miraj at 8:00 PM, Sunil Dhaba at 9:15 PM for food, Sangola at 10:15 PM, Pandharpur at 11:00 PM on platform number 5 where driver and conductor change, Yermala at 2:00 AM, Kalamb at 2:15 AM, Malegaon at 2:40 AM for tea, Ambajogai at 3:30 AM which is 46 kilometers from Malegaon and takes one and a half hours, Parli at 4:00 AM which is 90 kilometers from Ambajogai, Gangakhed at 5:00 AM, and Parbhani at 5:45 AM final.

Third, the road condition from Kolhapur to Sangli via Panchganga River bridge and Krishna River bridge at Ankali is very good. From Miraj to Sangola to Pandharpur highway is also good but there is a toll naka at Ankedhal. From Pandharpur to Kalamb via Chandrabhaga River bridge is also good. From Kalamb to Ambajogai and Parli and Gangakhed the road is single but manageable.

Fourth, the food and tea halts are at Sunil Dhaba at 9:15 PM night on the highway and at Malegaon at 2:40 AM night for tea and water. These are the only two halts in the night journey.

Fifth, the bus is MH 20 GC 3487 and it belongs to which division? It looks like Jalna or Parbhani division bus, but it starts from Kolhapur. The driver and conductor change at Pandharpur at 11:00 PM which is important because from Pandharpur the route changes to Barshi, Kalamb, Ambajogai side which is Marathwada region. So Pandharpur is the border between West Maharashtra and Marathwada for this route.

Sixth, I took rest at home before this journey, so I was fresh. My previous journey from Chikhli to Shirdi was 270 kilometers and ticket was 250 rupees and I reached Shirdi at 1:30 PM from platform number 2 at 6:00 AM via Jalna, CIDCO, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Newasa, Shrirampur. Then I did Shirdi to Ichalkaranji which was 435 kilometers and 650 rupees. Then I took break and went home. Now after rest at home, I started Kolhapur to Parbhani which is around 500 kilometers and ticket is 700 rupees.

My Final Advice For You

If you want to travel from Kolhapur to Parbhani, you should come to Kolhapur Bus Stand at 5:00 PM because the bus leaves at 6:00 PM evening. The bus goes via Jaysingpur at 7:00 PM, Sangli at 7:30 PM, Miraj at 8:00 PM, Sunil Dhaba at 9:15 PM, Sangola at 10:15 PM after crossing Ankedhal toll naka, Pandharpur at 11:00 PM on platform number 5 where driver and conductor change,

Further Yermala at 2:00 AM, Kalamb at 2:15 AM, Malegaon at 2:40 AM for tea where Ambajogai is 46 kilometers and one and a half hours, Ambajogai at 3:30 AM which is 90 kilometers remaining to Parbhani, Parli at 4:00 AM, Gangakhed at 5:00 AM via Daithana, Borwand, Taroda and finally Parbhani at 5:45 AM. The ticket is 700 rupees. You should carry a water bottle and a blanket because it is a night journey.
